STAGE

In 1972 I understudied the role of the Leather Apron in 1776 at Swift Creek Mill Playhouse. That was my first venture in a professional production. I soon followed by pursuing a degree in Dramatic Arts & Speech at Virginia Commonwealth University.

While in college I performed at Stage Center as the Player in Rosencranz & Guildenstern are Dead among others. I also played Edmond in Long Days Journey Into Night at Barksdale Theatre. By the time I had graduated I hadperformed in many area productions and also served an apprenticeship at The Virginia Museum Theater.

Over the years I have always felt most comfortable behind a micrphone or on stage. FIlm work has always interested me, but has never been a large part of my experience.

I am proud to say I have had the pleasure of working with some of Richmond's best actors, actresses and directors.

In the past ten years I have had the opportunity to perform some enviable roles:

  • Colonel Pickering in My Fair Lady
  • Cauchon in The Lark
  • James Tyrone in Long Days Journey Into Night
  • Sydney Black in Light Up The Sky
  • Elmo in Songs From Bedlam
  • Robert in Proof
  • Reverand Paris in The Crucible
  • Horace in The Little Foxes

I always enjoy the stage. It's world is unique in that any single performance will never be repeated exactly as it occurs.

Every element, including the audience, contributes to the experience. There is always an aspect of the unknown to each performance.

I always look forward to that.
